Our History
After discovering his love for the industry overseas, Millennium Diamonds was proudly founded in 1996 by Riki Corthouts.
In the early 90s, Riki travelled to India and was inspired by the jewellery manufacture and gemstone cutting in the Pink City, Jaipur.
On returning to South Africa, he began to apprentice as a diamond cutter and goldsmith before he decided to form his own company, built upon his vision of a unique, wholly South African product.

Shawn Dludlu
Shawn is completing his third and final year of his Diploma in Sound Technology with the help of his full scholarship from Millennium Diamonds. As a child of one of our beloved staff members, he’s a part of the Millennium family and we are more than happy to help pave the way towards his bright future!
Itumeleng Monareng
Tumi is busy with her first year of her Bachelor of Education degree, made possible by her full scholarship provided to her by Millennium Diamonds. Bright and brimming with potential, Millennium also aided her in securing her current position as a teaching assistant at one of Johannesburg’s top private schools, where she is gaining invaluable practical experience.
